ਹਾਥਿ ਕਲੰਮ ਅਗੰਮ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖਾਵਤੀ ॥
Haathh Kalanm Aganm Masathak Laekhaavathee ||
हाथि कलम अगम मसतकि लेखावती ॥
With Pen in Hand, the Unfathomable Lord writes the mortal's destiny upon his forehead.
ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਨੂਪ ਰੂਪਾਵਤੀ ॥
Ourajh Rehiou Sabh Sang Anoop Roopaavathee ||
उरझि रहिओ सभ संगि अनूप रूपावती ॥
The Incomparably Beautiful Lord is involved with all.
ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਤੁਹਾਰੀਆ ॥
Ousathath Kehan N Jaae Mukhahu Thuhaareeaa ||
उसतति कहनु न जाइ मुखहु तुहारीआ ॥
I cannot utter Your Praises with my mouth.
ਮੋਹੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਆ ॥੧॥
Mohee Dhaekh Dharas Naanak Balihaareeaa ||1||
मोही देखि दरसु नानक बलिहारीआ ॥१॥
Nanak is fascinated, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. I am a sacrifice to You. ||1||
ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਮਹਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਕਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਮੈ ਕਹਾਂ ॥
Santh Sabhaa Mehi Bais K Keerath Mai Kehaan ||
संत सभा महि बैसि कि कीरति मै कहां ॥
Seated in the Society of the Saints, I chant the Lord's Praises.
ਅਰਪੀ ਸਭੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਏਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਸਭੁ ਦਿਵਾ ॥
Arapee Sabh Seegaar Eaehu Jeeo Sabh Dhivaa ||
अरपी सभु सीगारु एहु जीउ सभु दिवा ॥
I dedicate all my adornments to Him, and give all this soul to Him.
ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਸੇਜ ਸੁ ਕੰਤਿ ਵਿਛਾਈਐ ॥
Aas Piaasee Saej S Kanth Vishhaaeeai ||
आस पिआसी सेज सु कंति विछाईऐ ॥
With hopeful yearning for Him, I have made the bed for my Husband.
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਭਾਗੁ ਤ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
Harihaan Masathak Hovai Bhaag Th Saajan Paaeeai ||2||
हरिहां मसतकि होवै भागु त साजनु पाईऐ ॥२॥
O Lord! If such good destiny is inscribed upon my forehead, then I shall find my Friend. ||2||
ਸਖੀ ਕਾਜਲ ਹਾਰ ਤੰਬੋਲ ਸਭੈ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਜਿਆ ॥
Sakhee Kaajal Haar Thanbol Sabhai Kishh Saajiaa ||
सखी काजल हार त्मबोल सभै किछु साजिआ ॥
O my companion, I have prepared everything: make-up, garlands and betel-leaves.
ਸੋਲਹ ਕੀਏ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਕਿ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਪਾਜਿਆ ॥
Soleh Keeeae Seegaar K Anjan Paajiaa ||
सोलह कीए सीगार कि अंजनु पाजिआ ॥
I have embellished myself with the sixteen decorations, and applied the mascara to my eyes.
ਜੇ ਘਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਕੰਤੁ ਤ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Jae Ghar Aavai Kanth Th Sabh Kishh Paaeeai ||
जे घरि आवै कंतु त सभु किछु पाईऐ ॥
If my Husband Lord comes to my home, then I obtain everything.
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਕੰਤੈ ਬਾਝੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੩॥
Harihaan Kanthai Baajh Seegaar Sabh Birathhaa Jaaeeai ||3||
हरिहां कंतै बाझु सीगारु सभु बिरथा जाईऐ ॥३॥
O Lord! Without my Husband, all these adornments are useless. ||3||
ਜਿਸੁ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਕੰਤੁ ਸਾ ਵਡਭਾਗਣੇ ॥
Jis Ghar Vasiaa Kanth Saa Vaddabhaaganae ||
जिसु घरि वसिआ कंतु सा वडभागणे ॥
Very fortunate is she, within whose home the Husband Lord abides.
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਣਿਆ ਹਭੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਸਾਈ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੇ ॥
This Baniaa Habh Seegaar Saaee Sohaaganae ||
तिसु बणिआ हभु सीगारु साई सोहागणे ॥
She is totally adorned and decorated; she is a happy soul-bride.
ਹਉ ਸੁਤੀ ਹੋਇ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ਪੁਰਾਈਆ ॥
Ho Suthee Hoe Achinth Man Aas Puraaeeaa ||
हउ सुती होइ अचिंत मनि आस पुराईआ ॥
I sleep in peace, without anxiety; the hopes of my mind have been fulfilled.
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਜਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ਕੰਤੁ ਤ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਈਆ ॥੪॥
Harihaan Jaa Ghar Aaeiaa Kanth Th Sabh Kishh Paaeeaa ||4||
हरिहां जा घरि आइआ कंतु त सभु किछु पाईआ ॥४॥
O Lord! When my Husband came into the home of my heart, I obtained everything. ||4||
ਆਸਾ ਇਤੀ ਆਸ ਕਿ ਆਸ ਪੁਰਾਈਐ ॥
Aasaa Eithee Aas K Aas Puraaeeai ||
आसा इती आस कि आस पुराईऐ ॥
My hope is so intense, that this hope alone should fulfill my hopes.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ਤ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Sathigur Bheae Dhaeiaal Th Pooraa Paaeeai ||
सतिगुर भए दइआल त पूरा पाईऐ ॥
When the True Guru becomes merciful, then I attain the Perfect Lord.
ਮੈ ਤਨਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਕਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਛਾਇਆ ॥
Mai Than Avagan Bahuth K Avagan Shhaaeiaa ||
मै तनि अवगण बहुतु कि अवगण छाइआ ॥
My body is filled with so many demerits; I am covered with faults and demerits.
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ਤ ਮਨੁ ਠਹਰਾਇਆ ॥੫॥
Harihaan Sathigur Bheae Dhaeiaal Th Man Theharaaeiaa ||5||
हरिहां सतिगुर भए दइआल त मनु ठहराइआ ॥५॥
O Lord! When the True Guru becomes Merciful, then the mind is held in place. ||5||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
Kahu Naanak Baeanth Baeanth Dhhiaaeiaa ||
कहु नानक बेअंतु बेअंतु धिआइआ ॥
Says Nanak, I have meditated on the Lord, Infinite and Endless.
ਦੁਤਰੁ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥
Dhuthar Eihu Sansaar Sathiguroo Tharaaeiaa ||
दुतरु इहु संसारु सतिगुरू तराइआ ॥
This world-ocean is so difficult to cross; the True Guru has carried me across.
ਮਿਟਿਆ ਆਵਾ ਗਉਣੁ ਜਾਂ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Mittiaa Aavaa Goun Jaan Pooraa Paaeiaa ||
मिटिआ आवा गउणु जां पूरा पाइआ ॥
My comings and goings in reincarnation ended, when I met the Perfect Lord.
