ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
ਨਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਲੇਖੁ ॥
ਤੇ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਿਸੇਖੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੀ ਗਹਣ ਗਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਿਤੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
ਊਤਮ ਪਦਵੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨॥
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ॥
ਏਕ ਘੜੀ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਿ ॥
ਕਹਿ ਕਹਿ ਕਹਣਾ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥
ਜੇ ਸਉ ਘਾਲੇ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੈ ਪੋਤੈ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
ਸਚੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥
ਜਹਾਂ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਸੈ ਤਹਾਂ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਏ ॥
ਗਿਆਨਿ ਰਤਨਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੪॥
ਨਾਵੈ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਬਖਸੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥
ਪੂਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥

Aasaa, Third Mehl, Panch-Padas:
One who dies in the Word of the Shabad, finds eternal bliss.
He is united with the True Guru, the Guru, the Lord God.
He does not die any more, and he does not come or go.
Through the Perfect Guru, he merges with the True Lord. ||1||
One who has the Naam, the Name of the Lord, written in his pre-ordained destiny,
Night and day, meditates forever on the Naam; he obtains the wondrous blessing of devotional love from the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause||
Those, whom the Lord God has blended with Himself
Their sublime state cannot be described.
The Perfect True Guru has given the Glorious Greatness,
Of the most exalted order, and I am absorbed into the Lord's Name. ||2||
Whatever the Lord does, He does all by Himself.
In an instant, He establishes, and disestablishes.
By merely speaking, talking, shouting and preaching about the Lord,
Even hundreds of times, the mortal is not approved. ||3||
The Guru meets with those, who take virtue as their treasure;
They listen to the True Word of the Guru's Bani, the Shabad.
Pain departs, from that place where the Shabad abides.
By the jewel of spiritual wisdom, one is easily absorbed into the True Lord. ||4||
No other wealth is as great as the Naam.
It is bestowed only by the True Lord.
Through the Perfect Word of the Shabad, it abides in the mind.
O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, peace is obtained. ||5||11||50||

nullnullnullnullਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ) ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਮਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਟਿੱਕਾ (ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥nullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ) ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਲੀਨਤਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੨॥nullnullnull'ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਤ ਨਾਸ ਭੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ'-ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਇਹੀ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਅਜੇਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਜੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ (ਨਿਰੀ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਣ ਦੀ) ਸੌ ਘਾਲਣਾ ਭੀ ਘਾਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅਜੇਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਹਨਤ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਕਬੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ ॥੩॥nullnullnull(ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ) ਚੰਗੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਥੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਰਤਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥nullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਧਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਧਨ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਜ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਸਦਾ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥੧੧॥੫੦॥
