ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਬਿਸਾਰੇ ਅਉਗਨ ਅਪਨਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਿਆ ॥
ਹੋਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤ ਨਿਆਈ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਜਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਰਾਖੇ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲਿ ॥
ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਏ ਮਹਾ ਭਵਜਲ ਤੇ ਅਪਨੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਛੁਟੀਐ ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਜਪਹੁ ਜਪੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਨੀਤ ਨੀਤ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਦੁਖ ਨਾਠੇ ॥
ਛਿਜੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਕਿਛੁ ਭਉ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਗਾਠੇ ॥੩॥
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਸਹਾਈ ਇਤ ਉਤ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮੀਤ ਹੀਤ ਧਨੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੬॥੪੫॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
He has cut away my bonds, and overlooked my shortcomings, and so He has confirmed His nature.
Becoming merciful to me, like a mother or a father, he has come to cherish me as His own child. ||1||
The GurSikhs are preserved by the Guru, by the Lord of the Universe.
He rescues them from the terrible world ocean, casting His Glance of Grace upon them. ||1||Pause||
Meditating in remembrance on Him, we escape from the Messenger of Death; here and hereafter, we obtain peace.
With every breath and morsel of food, meditate, and chant with your tongue, continually, each and every day; sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||
Through loving devotional worship, the supreme status is obtained, and in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, sorrows are dispelled.
I am not worn down, I do not die, and nothing strikes fear in me, since I have the wealth of the Lord's Immaculate Name in my purse. ||3||
At the very last moment, God becomes the mortal's Help and Support; here and hereafter, He is the Savior Lord.
He is my breath of life, my friend, support and wealth; O Nanak, I am forever a sacrifice to Him. ||4||6||45||

nullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ) ਔਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਆਪਣਾ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ) ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਜਗਤ-ਪਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥nullਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਜਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪਾਈਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣੀਦਾ ਹੈ (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਗਿਰਾਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ। ਆਉ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੀਏ ॥੨॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਧਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੋਰ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ) ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪਦਾ, ਉਹ ਧਨ ਘਟਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਧਨ ਗੁਆਚਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ (ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ) ਅੰਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਭੀ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸ ਐਸਾ ਧਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਹਿਤੂ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੬॥੪੫॥
