ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਤਨ ਕਾ ਦੂਖ ॥
ਮਨ ਸਗਲ ਕਉ ਹੋਆ ਸੂਖੁ ॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰ ਦੀਨੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
ਮਨ ਚਿੰਤਤ ਸਗਲੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥
ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਸਭ ਹੋਈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੨॥
ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ਰਸਨਾ ਚਾਖੇ ॥੩॥
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪੂਜ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨਾ ॥
ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਪਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਭਇਆ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੦੦॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
First, the pains of the body vanish;
Then, the mind becomes totally peaceful.
In His Mercy, the Guru bestows the Lord's Name.
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to that True Guru. ||1||
I have obtained the Perfect Guru, O my Siblings of Destiny.
All illness, sorrows and sufferings are dispelled, in the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||Pause||
The feet of the Guru abide within my heart;
I have received all the fruits of my heart's desires.
The fire is extinguished, and I am totally peaceful.
Showering His Mercy, the Guru has given this gift. ||2||
The Guru has given shelter to the shelterless.
The Guru has given honor to the dishonored.
Shattering his bonds, the Guru has saved His servant.
I taste with my tongue the Ambrosial Bani of His Word. ||3||
By great good fortune, I worship the Guru's feet.
Forsaking everything, I have obtained God's Sanctuary.
That humble being, O Nanak, unto whom the Guru grants His Mercy,
Is forever enraptured. ||4||6||100||

nullnullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ) ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਗਿਆ, ਫਿਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥nullਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੀਰ! ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਸਾਰੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਰਹਾਉ॥nullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਏ ਹਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨ-ਇੱਛਤ ਫਲ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ) ਅੱਗ ਬੁੱਝ ਗਈ ਹੈ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਪੂਰੀ ਠੰਢ ਪੈ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥nullnullnullਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਢੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ) ਥਾਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਦਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਲਿਆ, ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ (ਦਾ ਰਸ) ਚੱਖਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥nullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ (ਦਾ ਅਵਸਰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੦੦॥
