ਮਨਹਠਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਭ ਥਕੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
ਮਨਹਠਿ ਭੇਖ ਕਰਿ ਭਰਮਦੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥
ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਸਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਘਰਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥

ਸਬਦੈ ਸਾਦੁ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਨਾਮਿ ਨ ਲਗੋ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
ਰਸਨਾ ਫਿਕਾ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਹੋਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਪਇਐ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥

ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਤ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਆਈ ॥
ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਤ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਵੈਰੀ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਸਭ ਸਮ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥
ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਣਾਈ ॥੧੯॥

Shalok, Third Mehl:
No one has ever found the Lord through stubborn-mindedness. All have grown weary of performing such actions.
Through their stubborn-mindedness, and by wearing their disguises, they are deluded; they suffer in pain from the love of duality.
Riches and the supernatural spiritual powers of the Siddhas are all emotional attachments; through them, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, does not come to dwell in the mind.
Serving the Guru, the mind becomes immaculately pure, and the darkness of spiritual ignorance is dispelled.
The jewel of the Naam is revealed in the home of one's own being; O Nanak, one merges in celestial bliss. ||1||
Third Mehl:
One who does not savor the taste of the Shabad, who does not love the Naam, the Name of the Lord,
And who speaks insipid words with his tongue, is ruined, again and again.
O Nanak, he acts according to the karma of his past actions, which no one can erase. ||2||
Pauree:
Blessed, blessed is the True Being, my True Guru; meeting Him, I have found peace.
Blessed, blessed is the True Being, my True Guru; meeting Him, I have attained the Lord's devotional worship.
Blessed, blessed is the Lord's devotee, my True Guru; serving Him, I have come to enshrine love for the Name of the Lord.
Blessed, blessed is the Knower of the Lord, my True Guru; He has taught me to look upon friend and foe alike.
Blessed, blessed is the True Guru, my best friend; He has led me to embrace love for the Name of the Lord. ||19||

nullnullਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਹਠ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਾ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ (ਭਾਵ, ਕਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ) (ਹਠ ਨਾਲ) ਕਰਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਓੜਕ) ਥੱਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ; ਮਨ ਦੇ ਹਠ ਨਾਲ (ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਭੇਖ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਦੁੱਖ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।ਰਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ (ਭੀ) ਨਿਰੋਲ ਮੋਹ (ਰੂਪ) ਹਨ, (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸ ਸਕਦਾ।nullਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਸਾਫ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਅਗਿਆਨ (ਰੂਪ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਨਾਮ (ਰੂਪ) ਰਤਨ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਹਿਜ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ (ਭਾਵ ਸੁਤੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥nullnullnullਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੁੜਿਆ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਫਿੱਕੇ ਬਚਨ ਹੀ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ; (ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੇ) ਉੱਕਰੇ ਹੋਏ (ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ) ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਹੁਣ ਭੀ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੀ) ਕਾਰ ਕਰਨੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ; ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥nullnullਸਾਡਾ ਸਤਪੁਰਖੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਠੰਡ ਪਈ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਅਸਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਲੱਭੀ ਹੈ।nullਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਸਾਂ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਜੋੜੀ ਹੈ; ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਕੀਹ ਤੇ ਸਜਨ ਕੀਹ-ਸਭ ਵਾਲ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਏਕਤਾ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ (ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਣ ਦੀ ਜਾਚ) ਸਿਖਾਈ ਹੈ।ਸਾਡਾ ਸੱਜਣ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੯॥
