ਅਨਿਕ ਲੀਲਾ ਰਾਜ ਰਸ ਰੂਪੰ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਚਮਰ ਤਖਤ ਆਸਨੰ ॥
ਰਚੰਤਿ ਮੂੜ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਪਨ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਮਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
ਸੁਪਨੈ ਹਭਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਮਿਠਾ ਲਗੜਾ ਮੋਹੁ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣੀਆ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਧ੍ਰੋਹੁ ॥੨॥

ਸੁਪਨੇ ਸੇਤੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਮੂਰਖਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
ਬਿਸਰੇ ਰਾਜ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ਜਾਗਤ ਭਖਲਾਇਆ ॥
ਆਰਜਾ ਗਈ ਵਿਹਾਇ ਧੰਧੈ ਧਾਇਆ ॥
ਪੂਰਨ ਭਏ ਨ ਕਾਮ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
ਕਿਆ ਵੇਚਾਰਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਜਾ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ॥੮॥

Shalok:
The various sorts of pleasures, powers, joys, beauty, canopies, cooling fans and thrones to sit on
- the foolish, ignorant and blind are engrossed in these things. O Nanak, desire for Maya is just a dream. ||1||
In a dream, he enjoys all sorts of pleasures, and emotional attachment seems so sweet.
O Nanak, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the beauty of Maya's illusion is fake. ||2||
Pauree:
The fool attaches his consciousness to the dream.
When he awakes, he forgets the power, pleasures and enjoyments, and he is sad.
He passes his life chasing after worldly affairs.
His works are not completed, because he is enticed by Maya.
What can the poor helpless creature do? The Lord Himself has deluded him. ||8||

nullnullਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਚੋਜ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ, ਰਾਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੌਜਾਂ, ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ, (ਸਿਰ ਤੇ) ਛਤਰ ਚਉਰ, ਤੇ ਬੈਠਣ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਤਖ਼ਤ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੀ ਮਸਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਕੌਤਕ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ (ਸਮਾਨ) ਹਨ ॥੧॥nullਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੇ ਰਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਧੋਖਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ (ਇਹ ਇਉਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਮਾਣੀਆਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਨੇ ਖਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਲਈ (ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਜਾਗ ਆਈ ਤਾਂ ਪੱਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਰਿਹਾ) ॥੨॥nullnullnullnullnullਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਜਾਗਦਾ ਹੀ ਬਰੜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਧੰਧੇ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਉਮਰ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ। ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀ ਵੱਸ? ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
