ਬਹਤੀ ਜਾਤ ਕਦੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਧਾਰਤ ॥
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮੋਹ ਬੰਧਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਪਾਰਚ ॥੧॥
ਮਾਧਵੇ ਭਜੁ ਦਿਨ ਨਿਤ ਰੈਣੀ ॥
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਰਤ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਦੋਊ ਕਰ ਝਾਰਤ ॥
ਰਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਰਿਦ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਧਾਰਤ ॥੨॥
ਭਰਣ ਪੋਖਣ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਉਧ ਬਿਹਾਣੀ ॥
ਜੈ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
ਸਰਣਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
ਉਧਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੩੩॥

Your life is slipping away, but you never even notice.
You are constantly entangled in false attachments and conflicts. ||1||
Meditate, vibrate constantly, day and night, on the Lord.
You shall be victorious in this priceless human life, in the Protection of the Lord's Sanctuary. ||1||Pause||
You eagerly commit sins and practice corruption,
But you do not enshrine the jewel of the Lord's Name within your heart, even for an instant. ||2||
Feeding and pampering your body, your life is passing away,
But you do not experience the state of victory of the Lord of the Universe. ||3||
So enter the Sanctuary of the All-powerful, Unfathomable Lord and Master.
O God, O Searcher of hearts, please, save Nanak! ||4||27||33||

nullਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਤੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੀ ਨਦੀ) ਵਹਿੰਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਇਧਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਤੂੰ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਨ੍ਹਣੂ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥nullਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟ ਲੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥nullਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਹਾਣ ਲਾਭ ਵਿਚਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕਰੀ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰਤਨ (ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ) ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਿਕਾਂਦਾ ॥੨॥nullਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ) ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਸਣ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਲੰਘਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਤੂੰ (ਹੁਣ ਤਕ) ਸਮਝੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੩॥nullਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਗਿਆਨ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੩੩॥
