ਸਿੰਚਹਿ ਦਰਬੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਲੋਗ ॥
ਤੇਰੈ ਕਾਜਿ ਨ ਅਵਰਾ ਜੋਗ ॥
ਕਰਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਅੰਧ ॥
ਜਮ ਕੀ ਜੇਵੜੀ ਤੂ ਆਗੈ ਬੰਧ ॥੧॥
ਛਾਡਿ ਵਿਡਾਣੀ ਤਾਤਿ ਮੂੜੇ ॥
ਈਹਾ ਬਸਨਾ ਰਾਤਿ ਮੂੜੇ ॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਮਾਤੇ ਤੈ ਉਠਿ ਚਲਨਾ ॥
ਰਾਚਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਤੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਪਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਾਲ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਅੰਧ ॥
ਭਰਿ ਜੋਬਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਦੁਰਗੰਧ ॥
ਤ੍ਰਿਤੀਅ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਸਿੰਚੇ ਮਾਇ ॥
ਬਿਰਧਿ ਭਇਆ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲਿਓ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ॥੨॥
ਚਿਰੰਕਾਲ ਪਾਈ ਦ੍ਰੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ॥
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਖੇਹ ॥
ਪਸੂ ਪਰੇਤ ਮੁਗਧ ਤੇ ਬੁਰੀ ॥
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹ ਸਿਰੀ ॥੩॥
ਸੁਣਿ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਸਦਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥

Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:
You gather wealth by exploiting people.
It is of no use to you; it was meant for others.
You practice egotism, and act like a blind man.
In the world hereafter, you shall be tied to the leash of the Messenger of Death. ||1||
Give up your envy of others, you fool!
You only live here for a night, you fool!
You are intoxicated with Maya, but you must soon arise and depart.
You are totally involved in the dream. ||1||Pause||
In his childhood, the child is blind.
In the fullness of youth, he is involved in foul-smelling sins.
In the third stage of life, he gathers the wealth of Maya.
And when he grows old, he must leave all this; he departs regretting and repenting. ||2||
After a very long time, one obtains this precious human body, so difficult to obtain.
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, it is reduced to dust.
Worse than a beast, a demon or an idiot,
Is that one who does not understand who created him. ||3||
Listen, O Creator Lord, Lord of the Universe, Lord of the World,
Merciful to the meek, forever compassionate
If You emancipate the human, then his bonds are broken.
O Nanak, the people of world are blind; please, Lord, forgive them, and unite them with Yourself. ||4||12||23||

nullnullnullnull(ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ!) ਤੂੰ ਧਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, (ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਜੋੜਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਵਿਚ) ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ। (ਮੌਤ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਧਨ) ਤੇਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ (ਦੇ ਵਰਤਣ) ਜੋਗਾ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਇਗਾ। (ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਇਸ ਧਨ ਦਾ) ਮਾਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ। (ਜਦੋਂ) ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ (ਤੇਰੇ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਈ, ਉਸ ਫਾਹੀ ਵਿਚ) ਬੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ (ਲੈ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਤੇ ਧਨ ਇਥੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਇਗਾ) ॥੧॥nullnullnullਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਈਰਖਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ। ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ (ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ) ਰਾਤ-ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਣਾ ਹੈ। ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋਏ ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! (ਇਥੋਂ ਆਖ਼ਰ) ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ) ਤੂੰ (ਇਸ ਜਗਤ-) ਸੁਪਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਰੁੱਝਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥nullnullnullਬਾਲ ਉਮਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝ ਬਾਲਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਰ-ਜਵਾਨੀ ਵੇਲੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਵਾਨੀ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ) ਤੀਜੀ ਉਮਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੋੜਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਆਖ਼ਰ ਜਦੋਂ) ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਕਰਦਾ (ਜੋੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਮਾਇਆ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ (ਇਥੋਂ) ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥nullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਬੜੇ ਚਿਰਾਂ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੁਰਲੱਭ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ, ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਮੂਰਖ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਦੇਹੀ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਤੇ ਪਰੇਤਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਭੈੜੀ (ਸਮਝੋ)। ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ (ਇਸ ਦੀ) ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਦੇਹੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੩॥nullnullnullਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਜੀਵ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਕੀਹ ਕਰਨ? ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਹੋ ਗੋਪਾਲ! ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਟੁੱਟ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੨੩॥
