ਬਸੰਤੁ ਚੜਿਆ ਫੂਲੀ ਬਨਰਾਇ ॥

Basanth Charria Foolee Banarae ||

Spring has come, and all the plants are flowering.

ਏਹਿ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਫੂਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥

Eaehi Jeea Janth Foolehi Har Chith Lae ||1||

These beings and creatures blossom forth when they focus their consciousness on the Lord. ||1||

ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਇ ॥

Ein Bidhh Eihu Man Haria Hoe ||

In this way, this mind is rejuvenated.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਢੈ ਧੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, day and night, egotism is removed and washed away from the Gurmukhs. ||1||Pause||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥

Sathigur Banee Sabadh Sunaeae ||

The True Guru speaks the Bani of the Word, and the Shabad, the Word of God.

ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ ॥੨॥

Eihu Jag Haria Sathigur Bhaeae ||2||

This world blossoms forth in its greenery, through the love of the True Guru. ||2||

ਫਲ ਫੂਲ ਲਾਗੇ ਜਾਂ ਆਪੇ ਲਾਏ ॥

Fal Fool Lagae Jan Apae Laeae ||

The mortal blossoms forth in flower and fruit, when the Lord Himself so wills.

ਮੂਲਿ ਲਗੈ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥

Mool Lagai Than Sathigur Paeae ||3||

He is attached to the Lord, the Primal Root of all, when he finds the True Guru. ||3||

ਆਪਿ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਵਾੜੀ ॥

Ap Basanth Jagath Sabh Varree ||

The Lord Himself is the season of spring; the whole world is His Garden.

ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੭॥
