ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਲੁ ਮੁਰੀਦਾ ਦਾ ਕਹਣਾ ॥

Mitar Piaare Nooaan Haalu Mureedaa Daa Kahanaa ॥

Convey to the dear friend the condition of the disciples,

ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਰਜਾਈਯਾ ਦਾ ਓਢਣੁ ਨਾਗ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ਦਾ ਰਹਣਾ ॥

Tudhu Binu Rogu Rajaaeeeyaa Daa Aodhanu Naaga Nivaasaa Daa Rahanaa ॥

Without Thee, the taking over of quilt is like disease and living in the house is like living with serpents

ਸੂਲ ਸੁਰਾਹੀ ਖੰਜਰ ਪਿਯਾਲਾ ਬਿੰਗੁ ਕਸਾਈਯਾ ਦਾ ਸਹਣਾ ॥

Soola Suraahee Khaanjar Piyaalaa Biaangu Kasaaeeeyaa Daa Sahanaa ॥

The flask is like the spike, the cup is like a dagger and (the separation) is like enduring the chopper of the butchers,

Aadi Aanti Anaanta Moorati Garhan Bhaanjan Haara ॥1॥ Rahaau ॥

He is in the beginning and in the end, He is the infinite entity, the Creator and the Destroyer…Pause.

ਨਿੰਦ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਜਉਨ ਕੇ ਸਮ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

Niaanda Austati Jauna Ke Sama Satar Mitar Na Koei ॥

The calumny and Praise are equal to him and he has no friend, no foe,

ਤਾਤ ਮਾਤ ਨ ਜਾਤਿ ਜਾਕਰ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਪੌਤ੍ਰ ਮੁਕੰਦ ॥

Taata Maata Na Jaati Jaakar Putar Poutar Mukaanda ॥

He, the Giver of salvation, has no father, no mother, no son and no grandson

ਕਉਨ ਕਾਜ ਕਹਾਹਿਂਗੇ ਤੇ ਆਨਿ ਦੇਵਿਕ ਨੰਦ ॥੨॥

Kauna Kaaja Kahaahinage Te Aani Devika Naanda ॥2॥

O what necessity he caused others to call Him the son of Devaki ?2.

ਦੇਵ ਦੈਤ ਦਿਸਾ ਵਿਸਾ ਜਿਹ ਕੀਨ ਸਰਬ ਪਸਾਰ ॥

Dev Daita Disaa Visaa Jih Keena Sarab Pasaara ॥

He, who has created gods, demons, directions and the whole expanse,

ਕਉਨ ਉਪਮਾ ਤੌਨ ਕੌ ਮੁਖਿ ਲੇਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੩॥੧॥੭॥

Beda Puraan Haari Hattha Chhaadiao Tadapi Dhiaan Na Aaee ॥1॥
