Herself killing the Raja she had staged a deception,

ਰੰਕਹਿ ਲੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਕਿਯੋ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਹਰਖ ਉਪਜਾਇ ॥੧੭॥

Raankahi Lai Raajaa Kiyo Hridai Harkh Aupajaaei ॥17॥

Raghu Baansee Jaa Ko Jaga Kahaeee ॥

There lived a Raja named Maingal Singh, who was from the clan of Raghu Wans.

Taa Ke Bhavan Eeka Bar Naaree ॥

ਜਨੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਅਪਨ ਕਰਨ ਗੜਿ ਭਾਰੀ ॥੧॥

Eika Cheree Taa Ke Bhavan Jaa Mai Ati Rasa Reeti ॥

A perfect maid used to live in her residence,

ਬੇਦ ਬ੍ਯਾਕਰਨ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਖਟ ਪੜੀ ਕੋਕ ਸੰਗੀਤਿ ॥੩॥

Beda Baiaakarn Saastar Khtta Parhee Koka Saangeeti ॥3॥

Who was proficient in Vedas, Grammar, Six Shastras, Philosophy and Koka-shastra.(3)

ਸੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਟਕਤ ਭਯੋ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥

So Raajaa Attakata Bhayo Taa Ko Roop Nihaari ॥

On perceiving her splendour, Raja fell for her,

ਦੈ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਕਛੂ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੀ ਸੰਕ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੪॥

Dai Na Sakai Taa Ko Kachhoo Triya Kee Saanka Bichaara ॥4॥

But, being scared of his women, he could not give her any gift.( 4)

Taahi Kathaa Eih Bhaanti Sikhaaeee ॥

ਕਹਿਯਹੁ ਪਰੀ ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਿਕਾ ਪਾਈ ॥੫॥

Kahiyahu Paree Muaandrikaa Paaeee ॥5॥
