ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਵਸ ਜਾਗਤ ਉਠਤ ਬਸਤ ਸੋਵਤੇ ਚਿਤ ॥੨॥

Raati Divasa Jaagata Autthata Basata Sovate Chita ॥2॥

And this digression tormented him day and night, whether sleeping or awake.(2)

ਸਾਹਜਹਾਂ ਜੂ ਪਲੰਘ ਪਰ ਸੋਤ ਉਠਿਯੋ ਬਰਰਾਇ ॥

Saahajahaan Joo Palaangha Par Sota Autthiyo Barraaei ॥

The Prince while sleeping on the adorned bed, would get up abruptly,

ਦਰਿਯਾ ਖਾਂ ਕੋ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਕ੍ਰੋਰਿ ਉਪਾਇ ॥੩॥

Dariyaa Khaan Ko Maariyo Kari Kai Karori Aupaaei ॥3॥
