Bahatee Adhika Jora So Bhaeee ॥

Where there was the confluence of eight rivulets, there always was thunderous aura.

ਠਟਾ ਸਹਿਰ ਬਸਿਯੋ ਤਹ ਭਾਰੋ ॥

Tthattaa Sahri Basiyo Taha Bhaaro ॥

ਜਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੂਸਰ ਸ੍ਵਰਗ ਸੁ ਧਾਰੋ ॥੧॥

Soorati Seerati Mai Adhika Bidhi Nai Sajiyo Sapoota ॥2॥

The king of that place had a son named Jallal.

ਜੋ ਅਬਲਾ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਲਖੈ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

Jo Abalaa Taa Kou Lakhi Reejha Rahai Man Maahi ॥

His countenance and temperament were as if created by God, Himself.(2)

ਗਿਰੇ ਮੂਰਛਨਾ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਧਰਨਿ ਤਨਿਕ ਰਹੈ ਸੁਧਿ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੩॥

Gire Moorachhanaa Havai Dharni Tanika Rahai Sudhi Naahi ॥3॥

Any female who looked at him, would feel immensely contented.

ਸਾਹ ਜਲਾਲ ਸਿਕਾਰ ਕੌ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਨਿਕਸਿਯੋ ਆਇ ॥

Saaha Jalaala Sikaara Kou Eika Din Nikasiyo Aaei ॥

She would even lose her consciousness and fell flat on the ground(3)

ਮ੍ਰਿਗਿਯਨ ਕੌ ਮਾਰਤ ਭਯੋ ਤਰਲ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਧਵਾਇ ॥੪॥

Mrigiyan Kou Maarata Bhayo Tarla Turaanga Dhavaaei ॥4॥

Jallaal, the king, one day marched out for hunting,

ਏਕ ਮਿਰਗ ਆਗੇ ਤਿਹ ਆਯੌ ॥

ਤਿਹ ਪਾਛੇ ਤਿਨ ਤੁਰੈ ਧਵਾਯੋ ॥

Tih Paachhe Tin Turi Dhavaayo ॥

One deer crossed his way and he put his horse to pursue it.

ਛੋਰਿ ਸੈਨ ਐਸੇ ਵਹ ਧਾਯੋ ॥

Chhori Sain Aaise Vaha Dhaayo ॥

ਸਹਿਰ ਬੂਬਨਾ ਕੇ ਮਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥੫॥

Sahri Boobanaa Ke Mahi Aayo ॥5॥

He deserted his army and drifted towards the city of Boobna.(5)

ਅਧਿਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾ ਜਬ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੰਤਾਯੋ ॥

Adhika Trikhaa Jaba Taahi Saantaayo ॥

ਬਾਗ ਬੂਬਨਾ ਕੇ ਮਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥

Baaga Boobanaa Ke Mahi Aayo ॥

When he became over thirsty, he came to the garden in Boobna.

ਪਾਨੀ ਉਤਰਿ ਅਸ੍ਵ ਤੇ ਪੀਯੋ ॥

Paanee Autari Asava Te Peeyo ॥

ਤਾ ਕੋ ਤਬ ਨਿੰਦ੍ਰਹਿ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਯੋ ॥੬॥

Taa Ko Taba Niaandarhi Gahi Leeyo ॥6॥

He dismounted, drank water and was overwhelmed by the sleep.(6)

ਤਬ ਤਹ ਸੋਇ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਈ ॥

Taba Taha Soei Rahiyo Sukh Paaeee ॥

ਜੀਤਿ ਜੁਧ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਬਰ ਲਏ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਅਤਿ ਸੁਭ ਕਾਇ ॥੩੪॥

Jeeti Judha Davai Bar Laee Kai Kai Ati Subha Kaaei ॥34॥

spouse. Kaikaee, the pretty one, earned many boons by winning over the war.(34)(1)
