Sandh and Apsandh were two great devils; all the three domains paid them their obeisance.

Shiva gave them word that they could not be terminated,

ਜੌ ਆਪਸ ਮੈ ਰਾਰਿ ਬਢੈਹੋ ॥

Jou Aapasa Mai Raari Badhaiho ॥

ਤੌ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਕੋ ਦੋਊ ਜੈਹੋ ॥੨॥

Tou Jama Ke Ghar Ko Doaoo Jaiho ॥2॥

‘But if you fought among yourself, then you would go to the domain of death.’(2)

ਮਹਾ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਜਬ ਬਰੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥

Mahaa Rudar Te Jaba Baru Paayo ॥

ਸਭ ਲੋਕਨ ਚਿਤ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਾਯੋ ॥

Sabha Lokan Chita Te Bisaraayo ॥

After obtaining such a boon they ignored all the people.

ਜੋ ਕੋਊ ਦੇਵ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਮੈ ਆਵੈ ॥

Jo Koaoo Dev Drisatti Mai Aavai ॥

ਜਿਯ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥

Jiya Lai Ke Phri Jaan Na Paavai ॥3॥

Now ifthey came across any devil, that would not go away alive.(3)

ਐਸੀ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖ ਦਏ ॥
