That arena of amorous play is wonderful, where Lord Krishna danced

ਤਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਇਉ ਰਸ ਕੰਚਨ ਕੀ ਸਮਤੁਲਿ ਮਚਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥

Taahee Ke Beecha Kahai Kabi Eiau Rasa Kaanchan Kee Samatuli Machiyo Hai ॥

In that arena, the gathering splendid like gold, has raised a tumult regarding the amorous play

ਤਾ ਸੀ ਬਨਾਇਬੇ ਕੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨ ਬਨੀ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਜੁਗ ਕੋਟਿ ਪਚਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥

Taa See Banaaeibe Ko Barhamaa Na Banee Kari Kai Juga Kotti Pachiyo Hai ॥

Such a wonderful arena, even Brahma cannot create with his efforts for millions of ages

ਕੰਚਨ ਕੇ ਤਨਿ ਗੋਪਨਿ ਕੋ ਤਿਹ ਮਧਿ ਮਨੀ ਮਨ ਤੁਲਿ ਗਚਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥੫੨੬॥

Kaanchan Ke Tani Gopani Ko Tih Madhi Manee Man Tuli Gachiyo Hai ॥526॥

The bodies of gopis are like gold and their minds seem splendid like pearls.526.

ਜਲ ਮੈ ਸਫਰੀ ਜਿਮ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੈ ਤਿਮ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਯਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਡੋਲੈ ॥

Jala Mai Sapharee Jima Kela Kari Tima Gavaaraniyaa Hari Ke Saangi Dolai ॥

Just as the fish moves in the water, in the same manner, the gopis are roaming with Krishna

ਜਿਉ ਜਨ ਫਾਗ ਕੋ ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਤਿਹ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਹੀ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਕਲੋਲੈ ॥

Jiau Jan Phaaga Ko Khelta Hai Tih Bhaanti Hee Kaanha Ke Saatha Kalolai ॥

Just as the people play Holi fearlessly in the same manner the gopis are flirting with Krishna

ਕੋਕਿਲਕਾ ਜਿਮ ਬੋਲਤ ਹੈ ਤਿਮ ਗਾਵਤ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਬੋਲੈ ॥

Kokilakaa Jima Bolata Hai Tima Gaavata Taa Kee Baraabar Bolai ॥

ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਸਭ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਯਾ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਨ ਸੋ ਰਸ ਕਾਨ੍ਹਿ ਨਿਚੋਲੈ ॥੫੨੭॥

Saiaam Kahai Sabha Gavaaraniyaa Eih Bhaatan So Rasa Kaanih Nicholai ॥527॥

They are all warbling like a nightingale and are quaffing the Krishna-nectar.527.

ਰਸ ਕੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਤਿਨ ਸੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਰੀ ਹਿਤ ਸੋ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਕਮ ਕੈ ॥

Rasa Kee Charchaa Tin So Bhagavaan Karee Hita So Na Kachhoo Kama Kai ॥

Lord Krishna held free discussion with them regarding amorous pleasure

ਇਹ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਖੇਲ ਬਨਿਓ ਹਮ ਕੈ ॥

Eih Bhaanti Kahiyo Kabi Saiaam Kahai Tumare Maahi Khel Baniao Hama Kai ॥

The poet says that Krishna said to the gopis, “I have just become like a play for you”

ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਦੀਯੋ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਸੁਭ ਦੰਤਨ ਯੌ ਦਮਕੈ ॥

Kahi Kai Eih Baata Deeyo Hasi Kai Su Parbhaa Subha Daantan You Damakai ॥

ਜਨੁ ਦਿਉਸ ਭਲੇ ਰੁਤਿ ਸਾਵਨ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਅਭ੍ਰਨ ਮੈ ਚਪਲਾ ਚਮਕੈ ॥੫੨੮॥

Janu Diaus Bhale Ruti Saavan Kee Ati Abharn Mai Chapalaa Chamakai ॥528॥

Saying this, Krishna laughed and his teeth glistened like the flash of lightning in clouds in the month of Sawan.528.

ਐਹੋ ਲਲਾ ਨੰਦ ਲਾਲ ਕਹੈ ਸਭ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਯਾ ਅਤਿ ਮੈਨ ਭਰੀ ॥

Aaiho Lalaa Naanda Laala Kahai Sabha Gavaaraniyaa Ati Main Bharee ॥

ਹਮਰੇ ਸੰਗ ਆਵਹੁ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੋ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਸੰਕ ਕਰੀ ॥

Hamare Saanga Aavahu Khel Karo Na Kachhoo Man Bheetr Saanka Karee ॥

The lustful gopis call Krishna and say, “Krishna! Come and play (sex) with us without hesitation

ਨੈਨ ਨਚਾਇ ਕਛੂ ਮੁਸਕਾਇ ਕੈ ਭਉਹ ਦੁਊ ਕਰਿ ਟੇਢਿ ਧਰੀ ॥

Nain Nachaaei Kachhoo Muskaaei Kai Bhauha Duaoo Kari Ttedhi Dharee ॥

They are causing their eyes to dance, they are tilting their eyebrows

ਮਨ ਯੌ ਉਪਜੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਰਸ ਕੀ ਮਨੋ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਕੰਠਹਿ ਫਾਸਿ ਡਰੀ ॥੫੨੯॥

Man You Aupajee Aupamaa Rasa Kee Mano Kaanha Ke Kaantthahi Phaasi Daree ॥529॥

It seems that the nose of attachment has fallen on the neck of Krishna.529.

ਖੇਲਤ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਮਧਿ ਸੋਊ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਛਬਿ ਵਾਰੋ ॥

Khelta Gavaarin Madhi Soaoo Kabi Saiaam Kahai Hari Joo Chhabi Vaaro ॥

I am a sacrifice on the beautiful spectacle of Krishna playing amongst gopis (the poet says)

ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਸੋਊ ਮੈਨ ਭਰੀ ਇਨ ਹੂੰ ਪਰ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਚੇਟਕ ਡਾਰੋ ॥

Khelta Hai Soaoo Main Bharee Ein Hooaan Par Maanhu Chettaka Daaro ॥

Full of lust, they are playing in the manner of one under magical charms

ਤੀਰ ਨਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਅਖਾਰੋ ॥

ਰੀਝ ਰਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਕੇ ਸਭੈ ਜਨ ਰੀਝ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਰ ਮੰਡਲ ਸਾਰੋ ॥੫੩੦॥

Reejha Rahai Prithamee Ke Sabhai Jan Reejha Rahiyo Sur Maandala Saaro ॥530॥

In the land of Braja and on the bank of the river, this beautiful arena has been formed and on seeing it, the dwellers of the earth and the whole sphere of gods is getting pleased.530.

ਗਾਵਤ ਏਕ ਨਚੈ ਇਕ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਤਾਰਿਨ ਕਿੰਕਨ ਕੀ ਧੁਨਿ ਬਾਜੈ ॥

Gaavata Eeka Nachai Eika Gavaarani Taarin Kiaankan Kee Dhuni Baajai ॥

Some gopi is dancing, someone is singing, someone is playing on a stringed musical instrument and someone is playing on the flute

ਜਿਉ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਰਾਜਤ ਬੀਚ ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਉ ਗਨ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਬੀਚ ਬਿਰਾਜੈ ॥
