ਮੋਹੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਭ ਕਾਰ ॥
ਮੋਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਤਜਹੁ ਸਗਲ ਵੇਕਾਰ ॥੧॥
ਮੋਹੁ ਅਰੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਤਜਹੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਬੀਰ ॥
ਸਾਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਰਵੈ ਸਰੀਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
ਰੋਵੈ ਪੂਤੁ ਨ ਕਲਪੈ ਮਾਈ ॥੨॥
ਏਤੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਡੂਬਾ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੋਈ ਉਤਰੈ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
ਏਤੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੂਨੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥
ਮੋਹੇ ਲਾਗਾ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੪॥
ਗੁਰ ਦੀਖਿਆ ਲੇ ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥
ਨਾ ਮੋਹੁ ਤੂਟੈ ਨਾ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੫॥
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਏਹੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੬॥੨੩॥

Aasaa, First Mehl, Panch-Padas:
Your attachment to your family, your attachment to all your affairs
- renounce all your attachments, for they are all corrupt. ||1||
Renounce your attachments and doubts, O brother,
And dwell upon the True Name within your heart and body. ||1||Pause||
When one receives the nine treasures of the True Name,
His children do not weep, and his mother does not grieve. ||2||
In this attachment, the world is drowning.
Few are the Gurmukhs who swim across. ||3||
In this attachment, people are reincarnated over and over again.
Attached to emotional attachment, they go to the city of Death. ||4||
You have received the Guru's Teachings - now practice meditation and penance.
If attachment is not broken, no one is approved. ||5||
But if He bestows His Glance of Grace, then this attachment departs.
O Nanak, then one remains merged in the Lord. ||6||23||

nullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੋਹ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੋਹ (ਜਗਤ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਕਾਰ ਚਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ ਮੋਹ ਹੀ) ਵਿਕਾਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਮੋਹ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ॥੧॥nullਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ) ਮੋਹ ਛੱਡ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ। (ਮੋਹ ਤਿਆਗਿਆਂ ਹੀ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥nullਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਨਾਮ (-ਰੂਪ) ਨੌ-ਨਿਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ, ਫਿਰ) ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਲਪਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨॥nullਇਹ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਡੁੱਬਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਇਸ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ (ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ) ਤੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਏਂਗਾ, ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜਕੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੂੰ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ ॥੪॥nullਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ (ਰਿਵਾਜੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਕਮਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਟੁੱਟਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਜਪਾਂ ਤਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਉਹ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ॥੫॥nullਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥੨੩॥
