ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸੋਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਖਾਇਆ ॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਬੈਠਾਲੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਉ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਿਬਾਦੇ ॥
ਹਮ ਆਈ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੇ ॥੧॥
ਐਸਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਿਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋਏ ॥
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਸੁਰਦੇਵ ਮਨੁਖਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਭਿ ਧ੍ਰੋਹਨਿ ਧ੍ਰੋਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਇਕਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਾਮਿ ਵਿਆਪੈ ॥
ਇਕਿ ਸੰਚਹਿ ਗਿਰਹੀ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਆਪੈ ॥
ਇਕਿ ਸਤੀ ਕਹਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਕਲਪਾਵੈ ॥
ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਲਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
ਤਪੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਤਪਸੀ ਭੂਲਾਏ ॥
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੋਹੇ ਲੋਭਿ ਸਬਾਏ ॥
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮੋਹੇ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਆਕਾਸੁ ॥
ਹਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਰਾਖੇ ਦੇ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਥੁ ॥੩॥
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੀ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤੀ ਦਾਸਿ ॥
ਕਰ ਜੋੜੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਕਹਹਿ ਸੁ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਾ ॥
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਾ ॥੪॥੧॥

Raag Aasaa, Second House, Fifth Mehl:
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
One who loves her, is ultimately devoured.
One who seats her in comfort, is totally terrified by her.
Siblings, friends and family, beholding her, argue.
But she has come under my control, by Guru's Grace. ||1||
Beholding her, all are bewitched:
The strivers, the Siddhas, the demi-gods, angels and mortals. All, except the Saadhus, are deceived by her deception. ||1||Pause||
Some wander around as renunciates, but they are engrossed in sexual desire.
Some grow rich as householders, but she does not belong to them.
Some call themselves men of charity, and she torments them terribly.
The Lord has saved me, by attaching me to the Feet of the True Guru. ||2||
She leads astray the penitents who practice penance.
The scholarly Pandits are all seduced by greed.
The world of the three qualities is enticed, and the heavens are enticed.
The True Guru has saved me, by giving me His Hand. ||3||
She is the slave of those who are spiritually wise.
With her palms pressed together, she serves them and offers her prayer:
"Whatever you wish, that is what I shall do."
O servant Nanak, she does not draw near to the Gurmukh. ||4||1||

ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ, ਘਰ ੨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।nullnullnullਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ) ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ, ਉਹੀ ਪਰਤ ਕੇ ਖਾਧਾ ਗਿਆ (ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ)। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਆਦਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਿਠਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ) ਬੜਾ ਡਰ ਵਿਖਾਲਿਆ। ਭਰਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਪਰਵਾਰ (ਦੇ ਜੀਵ, ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਆਪੋ ਵਿਚ) ਲੜ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥nullਸਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੋਗੀ, ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੋਗੀ, ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਮਨੁੱਖ-ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਠਗਣੀ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਦੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਠੱਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥nullnullnullਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬੰਦੇ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਤੁਰੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਪਰ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ) ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਦਬਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬੰਦੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਦਾਨੀ ਅਖਵਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਭੀ) ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਗਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ (ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥nullnullnullਤਪ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਤਪਸ੍ਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ) ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਲੋਕ ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਹੱਥੀਂ) ਠੱਗੇ ਗਏ। ਸਾਰੇ ਤ੍ਰੈ-ਗੁਣੀ ਜੀਵ ਠੱਗੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਦੇਵਤੇ ਭੀ ਠੱਗੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥nullnullnullਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ (ਦੋਵੇਂ) ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ-) ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਖੇਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਾਂਗੀ (ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਬਾਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਵਾਂਗੀ) ਜਿਹੜਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥
