ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗਾਵਉ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਗਾਵਉ ਗਾਵਉ ਜਾਗਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
ਸੰਗਿ ਚਲਨ ਕਉ ਤੋਸਾ ਦੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
ਅਵਰ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥
ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਦੀਓ ਮੈ ਏਹੋ ਆਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦੂਖਨਿ ਗਾਵਉ ਸੁਖਿ ਭੀ ਗਾਵਉ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪੰਥਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥
ਨਾਮ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਦੀਆ ਮੋਰੀ ਤਿਸਾ ਬੁਝਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
ਦਿਨੁ ਭੀ ਗਾਵਉ ਰੈਨੀ ਗਾਵਉ ਗਾਵਉ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਰਸਨਾਰੀ ॥
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਸਾਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰਤ ਸੰਗਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਇਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਵਉ ਸੰਤ ਰੇਨ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
ਸ੍ਰਵਨੀ ਕਥਾ ਨੈਨ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਉ ਮਸਤਕੁ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੨੨॥

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂੰ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਹਿ ਤੇ ਪਾਹੁਨ ਦੋ ਦਾਹਾ ॥
ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਸਭ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਅਸਨਾਹਾ ॥੧॥
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਹੈ ਹਾ ਹਾ ॥
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਦੇਖੁ ਜੈਸੇ ਹਰਿਚੰਦਉਰੀ ਇਕੁ ਰਾਮ ਭਜਨੁ ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੈਸੇ ਬਸਤਰ ਦੇਹ ਓਢਾਨੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੋਇ ਚਾਰਿ ਭੋਰਾਹਾ ॥
ਭੀਤਿ ਊਪਰੇ ਕੇਤਕੁ ਧਾਈਐ ਅੰਤਿ ਓਰਕੋ ਆਹਾ ॥੨॥
ਜੈਸੇ ਅੰਭ ਕੁੰਡ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਪਰਤ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਗਲਿ ਜਾਹਾ ॥
ਆਵਗਿ ਆਗਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਸੀ ਮੁਹਤ ਚਸਾਹਾ ॥੩॥
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਲੇਖੈ ਚਾਲਹਿ ਲੇਖੈ ਬੈਸਹਿ ਲੇਖੈ ਲੈਦਾ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
ਸਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਉਬਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਓਟਾਹਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੨੩॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
Inwardly, I sing His Praises, and outwardly, I sing His Praises; I sing His Praises while awake and asleep.
I am a trader in the Name of the Lord of the Universe; He has given it to me as my supplies, to carry with me. ||1||
I have forgotten and forsaken other things.
The Perfect Guru has given me the Gift of the Naam; this alone is my Support. ||1||Pause||
I sing His Praises while suffering, and I sing His Praises while I am at peace as well. I contemplate Him while I walk along the Path.
The Guru has implanted the Naam within my mind, and my thirst has been quenched. ||2||
I sing His Praises during the day, and I sing His Praises during the night; I sing them with each and every breath.
In the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, this faith is established, that the Lord is with us, in life and in death. ||3||
Bless servant Nanak with this gift, O God, that he may obtain, and enshrine in his heart, the dust of the feet of the Saints.
Hear the Lord's Sermon with your ears, and behold the Blessed Vision of His Darshan with your eyes; place your forehead upon the Guru's Feet. ||4||2||122||

That which you believe to be permanent, is a guest here for only a few days.
Children, wives, homes, and all possessions - attachment to all of these is false. ||1||
O mind, why do you burst out laughing?
See with your eyes, that these things are only mirages. So earn the profit of meditation on the One Lord. ||1||Pause||
It is like the clothes which you wear on your body - they wear off in a few days.
How long can you run upon a wall? Ultimately, you come to its end. ||2||
It is like salt, preserved in its container; when it is put into water, it dissolves.
When the Order of the Supreme Lord God comes, the soul arises, and departs in an instant. ||3||
O mind, your steps are numbered, your moments spent sitting are numbered, and the breaths you are to take are numbered.
Sing forever the Praises of the Lord, O Nanak, and you shall be saved, under the Shelter of the Feet of the True Guru. ||4||1||123||

nullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸਫ਼ਰ-ਖ਼ਰਚ (ਵਜੋਂ) ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਬਾਹਰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤਨ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਸੌਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੀ ਤੇ ਜਾਗ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਓਟ ਮੈਂ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ (ਦੀ) ਦਾਤਿ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸੇ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹਤਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਨਾਮ ਨੇ) ਮੇਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਰਸਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਭੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸੰਭਾਲੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੀ ਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ, ਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਸੁਆਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਭੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਹੈ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆਂ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿਊਂਦਿਆਂ ਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥nullਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦਾਨ ਦਿਉ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਾਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਾਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੱਥਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਰੱਖੀ ਰੱਖਾਂ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੨੨॥ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ, ਘਰ ੧੦ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।nullਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਸ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਘਰੋਗੇ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੰਨੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈਂ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਦੋ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣੇ ਹਨ। ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਘਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਾਮਾਨ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥nullਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! (ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕੀਹ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਨਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ) ਕੀਹ ਆਹਾ ਆਹਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਧੂੰਏਂ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਹੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ) ਲਾਭ (ਖੱਟਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥nullਹੇ ਮਨ! (ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਪਸਾਰਾ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਹੋਏ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਦੋ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਕੰਧ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਤਕ ਦੌੜ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ? ਆਖ਼ਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅਖ਼ੀਰਲਾ ਸਿਰਾ ਆ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਗਿਣੇ-ਮਿਥੇ ਸੁਆਸ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੨॥nullਹੇ ਮਨ! (ਇਹ ਉਮਰ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਹੌਜ਼ਾ ਬਣਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤੇ ਲੂਣ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਗਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਦੋਂ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ (ਸੱਦਾ) ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਏਗਾ ॥੩॥nullਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਿਣੇ-ਮਿਥੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਆਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈਂ (ਗਿਣੇ-ਮਿਥੇ) ਲੇਖੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, (ਇਹ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਣੇ ਹਨ)। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ। ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਉਹ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਣੋਂ) ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੨੩॥
