ਆਸਾ ॥
ਗਜ ਸਾਢੇ ਤੈ ਤੈ ਧੋਤੀਆ ਤਿਹਰੇ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਤਗ ॥
ਗਲੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਜਪਮਾਲੀਆ ਲੋਟੇ ਹਥਿ ਨਿਬਗ ॥
ਓਇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਬਾਨਾਰਸਿ ਕੇ ਠਗ ॥੧॥
ਐਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਭਾਵਹਿ ॥
ਡਾਲਾ ਸਿਉ ਪੇਡਾ ਗਟਕਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਾਸਨ ਮਾਂਜਿ ਚਰਾਵਹਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਾਠੀ ਧੋਇ ਜਲਾਵਹਿ ॥
ਬਸੁਧਾ ਖੋਦਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦੁਇ ਚੂਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਣਸ ਖਾਵਹਿ ॥੨॥
ਓਇ ਪਾਪੀ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਅਪਰਸ ਕਹਾਵਹਿ ॥
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਸਗਲ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਡੁਬਾਵਹਿ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਤੁ ਕੋ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤ ਹੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੈਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੪॥੨॥

Aasaa:
They wear loin cloths, three and a half yards long, and triple-wound sacred threads.
They have rosaries around their necks, and they carry glittering jugs in their hands.
They are not called Saints of the Lord - they are thugs of Benares. ||1||
Such 'saints' are not pleasing to me;
They eat the trees along with the branches. ||1||Pause||
They wash their pots and pans before putting them on the stove, and they wash the wood before lighting it.
They dig up the earth and make two fireplaces, but they eat the whole person! ||2||
Those sinners continually wander in evil deeds, while they call themselves touch-nothing saints.
They wander around forever and ever in their self-conceit, and all their families are drowned. ||3||
He is attached to that, to which the Lord has attached him, and he acts accordingly.
Says Kabeer, one who meets the True Guru, is not reincarnated again. ||4||2||

nullnullnull(ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਾਢੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਤਿੰਨ ਗਜ਼ (ਲੰਮੀਆਂ) ਧੋਤੀਆਂ (ਪਹਿਨਦੇ, ਅਤੇ) ਤਿਹਰੀਆਂ ਤੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਨੇਊ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਲਾਂ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਸ਼ਕਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਟੇ ਹਨ, (ਨਿਰੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲੱਛਣਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖੇ ਜਾਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ, ਉਹ ਤਾਂ (ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ) ਬਨਾਰਸੀ ਠੱਗ ਹਨ ॥੧॥nullਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੇ, ਜੋ ਮੂਲ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਟਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਖਾ ਜਾਣ (ਭਾਵ, ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨੋਂ ਮਾਰਨੋਂ ਭੀ ਸੰਕੋਚ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥null(ਇਹ ਲੋਕ) ਧਰਤੀ ਪੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਦੋ ਚੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਬਣਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਭਾਂਡੇ ਮਾਂਜ ਕੇ (ਚੁੱਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ) ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਹੇਠਾਂ) ਲੱਕੜੀਆਂ ਧੋ ਕੇ ਬਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ (ਸੁੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ, ਪਰ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਸਮੂਲਚੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥nullਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਖਚਿਤ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਂਞ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਅਖਵਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੋਂਹਦੇ। ਸਦਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੱਤੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਹ ਆਪ ਤਾਂ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਹੀ ਸਨ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਡੋਬਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥null(ਪਰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜਿਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਸੇ ਉਹ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਸੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਕਦੇ ਜਨਮ (ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ) ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
